Although Melbourne band Good Morning could easily fit on the Captured Tracks roster with their Mac slacker sound, Brisbane’s Bedroom Suck Records is obviously a more apt home for their breezy bedroom jams. Founded in 2013, the Aussie duo have only released two EPs to date—2014’s Shawcross and 2016’s Glory—but these have done well to put them on the map, both at home and abroad. Reverb-soaked, swirling guitars are front and center in Good Morning‘s music, making for a sound that plays out as if underwater. The sweet, simple melodies aren’t lost in the mix, though, with effortless lines like the vocal intro to ‘Warned You’, that permeate and implant themselves in your head. If I could wake up every day feeling as relaxed and carefree as these guys sound, it would be a good morning indeed.
