A window into a dream world

Do you ever have those nights when so much is going on that you feel overwhelmed and end up doing absolutely nothing, then regret it later? That’s where I’m at right now. In honor of that sentiment (and the fact that I can’t fall asleep), here’s a musical treat for you by the band whose concert I’m at this very moment missing, Fenster.

If you don’t already know Berlin’s darling indie band, it’s probably time to perk your ears up. This dream pop quartet formed in 2010 and have been making a name for themselves ever since. Their claim to indie fame was their track “Oh Canyon,” which made ripples in the online music community in 2011.

In contrast to their debut album Bones, Fenster’s recently released sophomore album Pink Caves is a much more polished affair with darker undertones and a less pop-y vibe than their first album, though not at the expense of their lovely, breezy sound. It’s easy to get lost in the dreamy songs on this album, but they never stray too far from solid ground.

They have a few shows coming up, but they seem to be sticking to Western Europe for the time being. So if they’re coming to a town near you, consider yourself pretty lucky.
